Senate Majority Leader says no stimulus for at least three weeks.
On Friday, Senate Majority Leader McConnell announced that the Senate was “unlikely” to pass a new coronavirus stimulus package “in the next three weeks.” This announcement comes after a call with President Trump this week that led President Trump to state that he was suspending negotiations for a new round of stimulus for those suffering economically in the nation.
However, Friday also saw the resumption of talks between Treasury Secretary Mnuchin and House Speaker Pelosi about the particulars of a relief bill to be passed before the November election. President Trump also said on Friday that, “I would like to see a bigger stimulus package than either the Democrats or Republicans are offering.” It is uncertain what path such a package would take at this time.
